Q: What do you do on a mobility scooter service?
​
A:Our mobility scooter services are tailored to suit each & every model with the main goal to prolong the life span of your equipment & highlight any potential safety issues. 
On a service, amongst many other adjustments specific to your model, we will:
​
  • Remove your seat. Any seat rail or seat post components will be tightened & greased where required
  • Gain access to the motor & batteries
  • Battery boxes will be opened & checked on applicable models, we will look at the battery connections & tighten if required, check any fuses or circuit breakers for faults
  • Carry out a series of tests, but also ask a few questions regarding the performance of the batteries to give you a good idea of their condition. It is important that the scooter has been charged for 8 hours prior to our visit to give the most accurate advice.
Please note that a full test of your batteries does take around 24hours & is a separate service that if required we can discuss
  • The motor brushes are checked for wear if applicable & we will then perform a test to check that it is using the correct amount of power from the batteries. At this point we will also check the magnetic brake is performing & holding as it should
  • Check the transaxle & fixings for tightness & any oil/grease leaking, wear or damage
  • Remove all 4 wheels, check tyre pressures & wear, re grease the axles, key ways & pins. Then re fitted using the correct hardware
  • Adjust & grease Anti tip wheels as necessary
  • Make sure all wiring connections to the control box are in good health. Looking in particular for any scorching, or damage, adjusted where possible & cleaned
  • Inspect over the chassis & any suspension components front & rear for corrosion, stress marks or cracks. Then they are cleaned & re greased
  • Highlight any damaged body plastics
  • Clean the splitting mechanism, grease it & adjust where applicable
  • Check all steering components for damage or wear, clean & re grease them, using only lubricants recommended by the manufacture.
  • Tighten & check the tiller for wear or potential damage
  • Test all top pod buttons & features
  • Test the throttle & Speed adjustment pots for wear & tare
  • Reassemble your scooter & clean the body plastics, now that the underside will be gleaming!
  • Test all of the lights
  • To finish, do a live test on your charger to check it is turning on & putting in a charge
 
You will then be presented with a completed copy of the engineers service sheet/report for any future reference, highlighting any items that are found to be worn, damaged or that they feel would be beneficial to replace. They will discuss any findings before they leave & we aim to provide quotations for any further work should it be required within 24hours.

Q: What do you do on a powerchair service?

A:Our powerchair services are tailored to suit each & every model with the main goal to prolong the life span of your equipment & making you aware of any potential safety issues. 

On a service, amongst many other adjustments specific to your model, we will:

  • Remove or check your seat. Any seat rail or seat post components will be tightened & greased where required, powered features will be tested & checked for wear & safety modes checked

  • Gain access to the motor & batteries

  • Battery boxes will be opened & checked on applicable models, we will look at the battery connections & tighten if required, check any fuses or circuit breakers for faults

  • Carry out a series of tests, but also ask a few questions regarding the performance of the batteries to give you a good idea of their condition. It is important that the powerchair has been charged for 8 hours prior to our visit to give the most accurate advice.

  • Clean the frame splitting mechanism, grease it & adjust where applicable

  • Test all joystick control buttons & features along with the control for damage or wear

  • Reassemble your powerchair & clean the body plastics, now that the underside will be gleaming!

  • Test all of the lights

  • To finish, do a live test on your charger to check it is turning on & putting in a charge

Q: What do you do on a stairlift service?
​
A:Our stairlift services are tailored to suit each & every model with the main goal to prolong the life span of your equipment & making you aware of any potential safety issues. 

On a service, amongst many other adjustments specific to your model, we will test:

​

  • Seat & arm rests for damage & wear, including all wiring connections

  • Footboard, its wiring & its safety edges

  • All safety edges on & around the lift body, seat swivel etc

  • Carriage bearings & runners for wear & damage

  • Final limit stops top & bottom

  • Any powered features such as seat swivelling motors, powered hinges

  • The OSG (Over Speed Governor) for correct operation if applicable

  • All wiring connections, tighten & advise replacement where necessary

  • PCB fittings

  • Your batteries to a degree, but also ask a few questions regarding the performance of the batteries to give you a good idea of their condition. Depending on the amount of use the stairlift gets we would advise on replacing every 12-18 months as a precaution.

  • The charge system of your lift

  • Fixtures & fittings that secure the track along with any manual hinges

  • Any remote controls

 

You will then be presented with a completed copy of the engineers service sheet/report for any future reference, highlighting any items that are found to be worn, damaged or that they feel would be beneficial to replace. They will discuss any findings before they leave & we aim to provide quotations for any further work that we are able to carry out should it be required within 24 hours.
